US Card Captors - No
One Does Cardcaptors Like Us!

Design and Layout:
I found this site to be very colorful and thus visually
stimulating. The title graphic and the bottom little copyright
notice are lovely. But the layout is the same as numerous
other Card Captors and Card Captor Sakura sites. The
traditional three column CSS spread that first started
appearing with massive Pokemon sites. Thus since there is not
much in the way of originality, the graphics get high marks
but the layout does not. The load time here is also pretty
good, considering I'm on a 56K modem right now.

Organization:
The two columns are used for navigation and the center of the
page is where the information is presented. On the navigation
bars, there are several categorical distinctions. But there
are also some useless links. For example, they could have
easily created a "Characters" page, but rather, so
as to occupy more space, they give the short descriptions of
Sakura and Li full link status on a main navigation page. They
should really belong in a sub-category. Thank goodness I'm
nit-picky!

Advertising and Broken links:
Well, there is a banner on the page, but I'm totally willing
to ignore it because it is nicely incorporated in the layout.
However, the fact that every other page I click on gives me a
pop-up window about something I am not the least bit
interested, that upsets me. I mean, if you're going to
advertise with those pop-ups, at least advertise something
that your viewers might be interested in.
On the plus side, there are not many broken links. In fact,
from what I searched, everything went somewhere. So that's
good.

Content:
Well, there's stuff there. I guess that's a good thing. But
there really isn't much information that's original, or to put
it more plainly, interesting. Fortunately, they don't perform
the sin of sins and mix Card Captors information with Card
Captor Sakura. This pretty much explains the limited content.
I mean, all the information on their site, one can find from
the official American Card Captors site. What else... even
though they are a Card Captors site, they make it a point to
try to have an episode list (and I assume eventual summaries)
of the Japanese series. I personally think they should just
stick to what they know. This site has so little information
though that I don't see the point of it being there when I
could just as easily visit the official site.

Overall:
I don't want to come back to it because I've seen everything
they have to offer in 15 minutes. And I mean it. I looked at
every page on the site. If a site only takes me 15 minutes to
look at, I have to wonder how long it took to put together...
Scarier still is the fact that they've got a staff of 8 people
and numerous updaters and yet, I ask, what are they
contributing since this site is so lacking content and they
didn't even make their own layout.
And if that isn't discouraging enough, it seems like these
people didn't even make the site out of a love for the story,
especially considering this statement from the "About the
Site" section.
"Well PFMoltres was the one who
started with the idea of a Cardcaptors site because there were
very few good ones probably only two or three at that time. So
he started to build his first layout and was sure he would
need help because he knew nothing about Cardcaptors."
